These are great tips for conserving energy, and lowering my monthly energy costs. I was familiar with tips like programming the thermostat, and getting energy-efficient appliances. I was surprised to hear that I need to unplug everything I'm not using or it could be costing me 75% of my energy bill each month!!! Thanks Pulte for this information!

I just saw something on Oprah not too long ago about a lady who unplugged everything in her home when it wasn't in use and it was amazing the amount of money she saved! I may have to try some of these things out in order to save myself from another $160 dollar ComEd bill like last months....

Thanks for the great tips, especially on photography. Chicagoland has such beautiful Christmas light displays that I would love to capture with my camera. I didn’t participate in the Pulte Homes’ Decorating Contest because I knew I wouldn’t be able to get a good photo, but I’m ready for next year!

Commented on the actual blog but I throw in a little more here. Not only do the Kids need to spend a little more time outside but many of us adults should as well. Just 10 years ago I spent less than an hour a year on a computer and now it's 10 - 15 hours a day.
